Beginner/ Ourson |
| -I know how to control my speed on an easy slope; can stop and turn in ‘snow plough ‘ position. -I can ski on an easy slope, keeping a good fixed snowplough position. -I can get up the slope using duck steps and side step techniques. |
Snowflake/Flocon |
| -I’m developing the snowplough position by putting my skis parallel between each of my turns whilst descending and controlling my speed. -I can travel across the slpoe, skis parallel in both directions. -I can go over small bumps without falling. |
1st star/ 1ère étoile |
| -I begin my turns in snowplough, but I’m finishing my turns competently parallel and sliding to turn. -I can do step turns up a slope. |
2nd star/ 2ème étoile |
| -I can nearly ski parallel. -I know how to slide my skis diagonally. -On flat ground, I use the cross country movement with my skis to move along. |
3rd star/ 3ème étoile |
| -I can ski parallel. -My legs are no longer just straight, but have a good position. -I’m getting a good feel of my skis. -I know how to stop slide quickly after having built up some speed. |
Bronze Star / Etoile de Bronze |
| -I am more precise choosing my trajectory path. -I can link several small turns, controlling my speed. -I can jump high over a bump. |
Gold Star / Etoile d'Or |
| -I am beginning to get some good results in the Giant Slalom. -I can alternate the rhythm and radius of my turns using my skis to their maximum. |
