It is impossible not to notice those skiers with their heels up in the air and their knees nearly stroking their ski. This technique which has apparently been about for only a decade actually re-appeared ten years ago and has been quite popular since. If you want to stay away from massive groups of people, if you want to know what ‘FUN’ really means or if you want to join out of curiosity, do not hesitate to ask for the services of our instructors who will teach you the basics of ‘Telemark’. Our instructors will also help the neophytes discover all the possibilities offered by this technique. Telemark was born in 1860 with a Norwegian skier (Sondre Norheim). That technique enabled him to go up and down snow-covered slopes quite easily. It was only because he won a competition hands down that he imposed his technique to the other competitors. The name ‘Telemark’ itself comes from a beautiful Province in the South West of Norway at about 250km from Oslo.
